Gold Coast Airport

Lendlease engaged Delta Group to undertake Civil Construction works for Project LIFT – the redevelopment of Gold Coast Airport and expansion of the terminal building, additional aircraft parking stands and a consolidated ground transport facility. Our scope of works included:

  • Site clearing – scraping of top soils, surface and sub-surface demolition.
  • Spoil Management, Site Dewatering and Overland Flow Management.
  • Sheet Piling, Piling Platform Works.
  • Stormwater Services Installation.
  • Stormwater and associated drainage works.
  • Services Protection Works.
  • Asphalting Works.
  • Aircraft Flexible Concrete Pavement Works.
  • Apron Upgrade Works.
  • Internal Site Roads, Final Roads and External Finishes.
  • Working and Laydown Pads.
  • Demolition of Building; Cut Penetrations to Existing Building.

All works were undertaken in a live international/domestic airport operations, including air side Permits and authorities. Key project statistics included:

  • 23,000 total workhours; 18 machines and up to 50 workers at peak.
  • Nil/zero notifiable incidents.
  • Nil/zero LTIs.
  • 2,300m3 Aircraft Specification Concrete.
  • PFAS Contaminated Spoil: >10,000m3.
  • Ground water management: >1m litres.
  • 14,000m2 piling platform.
  • 5,500m2 pavement demolition.
