Job Description

Delta Recycling is one of the largest processors of C&D waste streams in Australia and diverts more than 2m tonnes from landfill each year. We are at the forefront of 21st century treatments and technologies that reduce our reliance on finite virgin construction materials by turning C&D waste streams into high quality, high value and custom engineered building materials. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead multi-site concrete recycling and contract crushing operations to ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest safety, environmental and quality standards. This role requires a strong site presence and a commitment to a 5.5-day working week to meet production demands. The successful candidate will play a key role in operational optimisation, cost control and driving divisional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational & Financial Performance: Deliver safe, efficient and profitable site operations; achieve production targets while upholding high safety and quality standards; monitor and control project costs, purchasing and end‑of‑month analysis; and improve efficiency, plant utilisation and labour management
  • Continuous Improvement & Growth: Drive continuous improvement across plant performance, workflow and resource allocation; analyse production data to increase output and reduce downtime; and support business development, tendering and new project planning
  • Resource & Personnel Management: Lead supervisors, operators and labourers (including labour hire); ensure training, competency and compliance standards are met; and support leadership development and succession planning
  • Plant & Equipment: Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on servicing and maintenance planning; ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed and maintain safe and productive plant and equipment performance
  • Compliance & Systems: Ensure compliance with OH&S, EPA and regulatory requirements; oversee adherence to Safety, Quality and Environmental systems; and conduct regular site inspections
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary contact for clients and site representatives; attend operations and planning meetings, providing operational insights; and collaborate with the Construction and General Managers to achieve company objectives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in quarry operations, earthmoving, crushing and screening
  • Strong understanding of materials processing and plant maintenance
  • Proven success in managing production targets and cost control
  • Experience leading multi‑site or project‑based operational teams
  • Commercial acumen with a focus on margin improvement
  • A safety‑first leadership mindset
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in building and construction sector, including demolition and civil contracting
  • High level proficiency (and tickets) in mobile plant operations, including maintenance
