Job Description

Our Graduate Program is carefully structured to cultivate talent in high-risk construction environments with little margin for error. We offer a genuine ‘boots-on-the-ground’ experience where no job is ever the same and new recruits will develop a range of highly sought after professional skills through structured units and real-world site responsibilities over the two-year full-time program. As a Graduate Project Engineer for BRC Piling & Foundations, you will fulfil site coordination duties to support the design and delivery of piling work programs on time, on budget and without incident.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing and maintaining project/site specific Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE) Management Plans
  • Detailed review of project documentation and preparation of a Schedule of Scope Deliverables to underpin the Subcontractor Inspection Test Plan (ITP) process and records
  • Coordinating onsite inspections and testing in strict accordance with ITPs
  • Organising onsite personnel in strict accordance with QSE Management Plans, including the coordination of Site Inductions
  • Monitor and identify key safety risks, including suggestions for site improvements to maintain performance excellence
  • Maintain project/site specific registers, forms, check-lists and ITPs
  • Undertake periodic audits of QSE management controls, including review of QSE inspection reports and ensuring recommended actions are fully implemented within specified timeframes
  • Monitor, identify and manage project/site specific defects, with a goal to minimising defects upon project completion
  • Attendance at onsite meetings and ensuring QSE management controls are raised and reinforced
  • Maintain effective communication between Project Engineers, Project Managers and Clients (Principal Contractors)
  • Coordinate project work-in-progress reports and performance analysis, including project contract administration
  • Engage and manage project/site specific subcontractors, including performance management

Qualifications & Experience

  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor of Engineering or construction related tertiary qualifications
  • Working knowledge of relevant design and engineering software
  • Proficiency in MS Office – particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence – C Class
  • Demonstrated problem solving capability
  • Demonstrated willingness to lead by example
  • Proven capacity to meet deadlines
  • Strong capacity to manage change
  • Proven ability for commercial judgement and decision making
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and identify more efficient work methods
