Job Description

CMA Contracting is seeking an experienced Gantry Crane Operator to join our Liddell Power Station demolition project team in the Hunter Valley. You will be a local or willing to relocate permanently as the position is strictly Drive in Drive Out (DIDO). FIFO candidates may be considered by exception and only with exceptional skill levels and relevant experience. The role demands a strong safety record and demonstrated experience working alongside other mobile plant, as well as labouring duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance with HSEQ management systems and performance standards
  • Working knowledge of gantry crane operation and rigging; load charts; critical picks; and dismantling
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, including fuelling, daily greasing and lubrication, daily safety and spot checks, reporting service requirements and/or mechanical concerns/issues, and maintaining mobile plant in clean and good working order
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors, and site team members to ensure smooth project and task execution
  • Maintain daily logs of plant and equipment usage, maintenance
  • Daily pre-start maintenance of plant or equipment
  • Identify, report and correct hazards
  • Labouring duties will involve cleaning and preparing sites; loading and delivering materials; manual lifting; and using a variety of tools such as blowtorches, large plant, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current operating tickets/licences
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on large scale construction or industrial project sites
  • All applicants must provide a current CV, references, and any relevant (and current) certifications or accreditations
  • You must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical as well as drug and alcohol screening
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (C class or above)
  • Previous DIDO and/or FIFO project experience
  • Understanding of the Hunter Valley region in New South Wales and local industrial sector
