Job Description

Working within a fully equipped workshop environment in Melbourne, Victoria, you will carry out fabrication, repair, and maintenance works across heavy earthmoving equipment, attachments, hook bins, and truck bodies. Overhead cranes and specialised tooling are provided to support safe and efficient operations. To succeed in this role, you will bring strong fabrication and welding experience together with a proactive and safety-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of structural steel from plans and workshop drawings
  • Repairs to earthmoving equipment and attachments
  • Repairs and modifications to hook bins and truck bodies
  • General welding and fabrication duties within the workshop
  • Maintaining high safety and quality standards at all times

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade qualification – Certificate III or equivalent
  • Strong MIG and Stick welding experience with mild and high tensile steels
  • Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
  • Commitment to workplace safety and team culture
  • Willingness to undergo Drug & Alcohol testing as required
  • Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ARC air gouging experience
  • Previous heavy fabrication or earthmoving repair experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
