Job Description

As a Diesel Truck Mechanic with Delta Group, you will be servicing and maintaining a huge variety of late model, new generation Hook Trucks, Rigids, Live Bottom Trailers, and Truck and Trailers in a fully equipped workshop located in Port Melbourne. You will bring a strong service background in mechanical maintenance, specialising in heavy plant and specialist attachments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance with HSEQ management systems and performance standards
  • Carrying out overhaul, repairs and maintenance of transport equipment and attachments
  • Troubleshooting and testing of components, engine, transmissions, hydraulic systems and fuel systems
  • Maintain accurate and complete service records
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current/valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to undertake and pass a drug and alcohol test as required
  • Trade qualifications in the Heavy Earthmoving Equipment or Automotive industry sectors
  • Experience in workshop and/or field service environments
  • High-level mechanical, transmissions, drive trains, truck suspension, and/or automotive electrical skills
  • Excellent communication – written and verbal, including literacy, the ability to follow technical manuals/documentation
  • Background in transport and/or consruction sectors, with experience working on Scania, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, Isuzu, and Fuso OEM models
  • Experience as a fully qualified Diesel Technician
  • Current/valid forklift license
  • High-level decision-making and problem-solving skills
