Job Description

CMA Contracting is seeking experienced Boilermakers to assist in technical hot works on various industrial and mining sites across the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. CMA offers a dynamic work environment across exciting and challenging demolition projects that will allow the successful candiate to apply and develop their skills. The role demands a commitment to safety excellence and demonstrated experience in the industrial or mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance with HSEQ management systems and performance standards
  • Critical thinking in high risk environments
  • Undertake technical hot works (oxy cutting) for key demolition tasks including controlled engineered fells
  • General oxy cutting of scrap metals in processing settings
  • Excavator and other machinery attachment maintenance (hard facing, wear parts etc)
  • Safe operation of mobile plant – EWP, Forklifts, Telehandlers
  • Repetitive handling and/or moving of heavy and awkward materials
  • Conduct routine equipment ensuring it remains in good working order

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in industrial and/or mining sectors
  • Trade Certificate of Proficiency
  • White Card
  • TRG – Hot Work (Cutting and Welding) Awareness Training (formerly MDG25)
  • Ability to evaluate and implement appropriate work methods
  • All applicants must provide a current CV, references, and any relevant (and current) certifications or accreditations
  • You must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medica (Order 43) as well as drug and alcohol screening
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • You will be a local to the Newcastle and/or Hunter Valley region of New South Wales or willing to relocate rmanently – as these positions are strictly Drive in Drive Out (DIDO)
