Job Description

Our Latrobe Valley & Gippsland division are seeking an experienced Project Manager. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in delivering large-scale rehabilitation and earthworks projects and ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on project leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, technical capabilities, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Leadership
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and completion of projects in line with Delta management systems
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and contractual obligations
  • Provide leadership to Project Engineers, Coordinators, Supervisors and Safety teams
Programming & Cost Control
  • Develop and manage project programs, including short and long-term planning
  • Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, budgets and weekly cost tracking
  • Identify risks to budget or schedule and implement mitigation strategies
Commercial & Contract Management
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiations
  • Manage variations, claims and invoicing within required timeframes
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and financial obligations
Quality, Safety & Risk
  • Ensure adherence to QSE (Quality, Safety & Environment) systems
  • Prepare and implement project management plans, SWMS and permits
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and reporting
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Deliver clear and timely project reporting, including monthly reports and risk registers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5–8+ years’ experience managing large-scale rehabilitation or earthworks projects
  • Proven experience delivering projects exceeding $50m per annum
  • Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Solid commercial acumen with cost control and forecasting expertise
  • Experience using InEight (or similar) project systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a proactive mindset
  • 5 years’ + experience in large scale civil earthworks project delivery
  • Live or willing to move the Latrobe Valley & Gippsland region for work at the Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project – Alliance Project (between Delta and ENGIE)
  • Work in mining or heavy earthworks environments
