Job Description

As a Field Service Mechanic with Delta Rent, you will be required to service and maintain a wide range of late-model heavy plant and equipment in central Queensland, in particular Gladstone and surrounds. You will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, specialising in heavy earthmoving equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance on earthmoving equipment and attachments.
Minor and major repairs on earthmoving equipment and attachments.
Attend breakdowns on site.
Troubleshooting and testing of components, engine, transmissions, hydraulic systems and fuel systems
Maintain accurate and complete service records
Compliance with HSEQ management systems and performance standards

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Current/valid Driver’s License
Willingness to undertake and pass a drug and alcohol test as required
Trade qualifications in the Heavy Earthmoving Equipment or Automotive industry sectors
Experience in field service environments, particularly construction sites
High-level mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical skills
Excellent communication – written and verbal, including literacy, the ability to follow technical manuals/documentation

Desirable

Background in construction and experience with Hitachi, Yanmar, Mustang, Cat, Komatsu, and/or Volvo plant would be advantageous
Proven capacity to multitask
High-level decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritise and follow up
