Job Description

We are seeking a customer-focused Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team in Port Melbourne. This is a 5-day week, office-based and fast-paced role ideal for someone who enjoys high-volume processing, building strong stakeholder relationships, and developing their career within a large, growing organisation. Australian work rights are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, manage and analyse high-volume invoices
  • Experience processing 850+ invoices per week is required
  • Match invoices to Purchase Orders and process within the accounting system
  • Process staff expense claims and corporate credit card transactions
  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and respond to internal and external queries
  • Complete monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Meet strict deadlines to support month-end processing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team
  • Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
  • Demonstrated commercial judgement and decision-making ability
  • Interest in process improvement and thinking differently
