Job Description

The SEC Delburn Wind Farm is Victoria’s first publicly owned, utility-scale wind generation project, to be built to the south of the Latrobe Valley from early 2026. Delta Group was appointed by Vestas as a key delivery partner of the project and is now actively promoting cadetship opportunities involving a Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cadet Project Engineer with our Latrobe Valley & Gippsland division, you’ll have the opportunity to take the theories you’re studying and apply them on fully operational project sites to enhance future opportunities in our industry. Each Cadet will be assigned an experienced Delta Group Project Engineer or Project Manager as their mentor, with a focus on fulfilling core day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Supporting day-to-day site and/or office operations
  • Learning safe work practices and Delta Group systems
  • Assisting supervisors and team members across projects
  • Completing training, certifications or studies as required
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Qualifications & Experience

  • Keen to learn and build a long-term career
  • Reliable, motivated and willing to work hard
  • Safety-focused with a positive attitude
  • Able to follow instructions and work well in a team
  • Strong communicators with a willingness to ask questions
  • Completing a degree in a construction related discipline – Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Effectively balance work and study
  • Previous experience in the construction industry
  • Understanding of quality, safety and environmental management systems
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
