Job Description

As Demolition Estimator you will be responsible for creating and maintaining time frames and budgets, as well as producing detailed estimates and cost budgets on a variety of demolition contracts for large scale commercial and industrial projects. You will oversee and manage current and future projects, and act as the first point of call to our clients and key personnel during initial stages of demolition projects in Queensland. You will need to combine site experience with exceptional quantity surveying skills and have high attention to detail in financial and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities

To be successful in this position you must have the following experience and attributes:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in Demolition industry (Licensed Demolition Supervisors or Project Managers are encouraged to apply)
  • Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering will be highly regarded.
  • Must be confident in dealing face-to-face, in writing and verbally with suppliers, subcontractors and prospective clients
  • Hold a current Open Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills – verbal and written.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, plan, and compile detailed estimations of large-scale Demolition projects located throughout Queensland for potential clients
  • Industry knowledge expert ensuring innovative and best cost solutions for upcoming projects are implemented.
  • Effective and efficient management of key supplier/stakeholder relationships – including maintaining an up to date register of market rates and costs
  • Provide a comprehensive handover to the project delivery team upon award of a tender
  • Review historic project delivery costs and risks to inform future tenders
  • Ability to identify risk, and provide upper/lower cost bounds to inform the Senior Management Teams decision making process prior to significant tender submissions 
  • Budget responsibility for a portfolio of demolition projects
  • Develop buying strategies.
  • Monitor contract fulfilment
  • Lead the continuous improvement through identification of innovative methods at tender
  • Seek better process, systems and ideas to enhance business results.
  • Must be confident in dealing face-to-face, in writing and verbally with suppliers, subcontractors and prospective clients
  • Liaise regularly with stakeholder clients, site supervisors and suppliers
