The BHP RGP3 Goldsworthy Demolition Project was completed between August 2006 and June 2007. The works consisted of the demolition of all plant, equipment, buildings, structures, associated conveyors, services and utilities.
To complete the project, CMA utilised excavators ranging from 35 tonnes up to 160 tonnes, a 150 tonne mobile crane, telehandlers, dump trucks and boom lifts.
At the completion of the project 8,000 tonnes of ferrous scrap and 185 tonnes of non-ferrous scrap had been processed and removed from site for recycling. Approximately 32,000 tonnes of concrete was also removed and taken to the Port Hedland Waste Facility.
A project team of 16 CMA workers and 11 subcontractors completed the project on budget and ahead of schedule.
