Fiona Stanley Hospital

Multiplex contracted Delta Group to design and deliver a large scale civil works programme to kick-start the $2b redevelopment of the Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth – Western Australia’s largest ever public infrastructure project.

 
The scope of works included:

• Bulk/detailed excavation works allowing for the construction of reinforced concrete foundations.
• Concrete infrastructure – slab preparation layer, retention systems and lift core rafts.
• Supply and placement of batter backfill.
• Construction of crane bases.
• Transport logistics, including traffic management and supervision.
• Site infrastructure – basement stormwater drainage system
• Site dewatering.
• Emissions, noise and vibration controls.

All works were completed 3 months ahead of schedule, including the testing, analysis, treatment and remediation of Acid Sulphate Soils. Other key achievements included:

• 3,500 cubic metres of concrete for pile caps and lift rafts.
• 650 piles.
• 400t of reinforcement for concrete construction such as detailed strip footings.
